Jacqueline Smith

Principal

I am delighted to be joining Vernus International School as Principal, marking my sixth school leadership appointment. Since beginning my full-time teaching career in 1985, I have been privileged to hold a variety of middle and senior leadership roles across schools and colleges around the world.

My experience includes opening and leading international schools in Singapore, France, Hungary, China, Jordan, and the UAE — including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah — as well as in my home country, the UK.

Throughout my teaching journey, I have taught French, Spanish, English, and ICT, and have held both academic and pastoral leadership positions across diverse educational contexts in the Middle East and beyond.

I am deeply committed to fostering breadth, challenge, and a holistic educational approach. I believe my role is to support, encourage, and empower every individual within our school community to reach their fullest potential.

I am equally passionate about building a nurturing and inclusive school culture. I place high value on strong partnerships between home and school, and welcome active involvement from parents and all stakeholders in the learning journey.
